Our history
For over 75 years, we have been forging links with our distributors while preserving their independence.
In a country experiencing profound change, traders in steel products and various materials decided to join forces to create an united and interdependent group in France. Through its history and status, SOCODA has brought together a wide range of companies who share the same vision and a similar capital structure: mainly family-owned capital held by the founders or their descendants.

AN ENGAGED GOVERNANCE
In 2020, the SOCODA Group began a new era with the arrival of Pauline Mispoulet as Chairwoman of the Executive Board, as well as the renewal of the presidents of the steel, sanitary-heating, and professional tools & industry branches. Governance is ensured by an Executive Board and a Supervisory Board, supported on a daily basis in the management and operation of the group by the branch presidents.

In a constantly changing world that is increasingly centralised and globalised, the SOCODA Group is committed to helping SMEs remain competitive locally.
Our vision and our fight: to guarantee the future of independent B2B distribution and family-run businesses, while building a sustainable future.
The 6 convictions of Socoda
We believe in standing together.
We are committed to serving our customers with their specific needs in mind.
We are small, family-run businesses that believe each individual is of the utmost importance.
Every customer is unique.
We are experts in our fields. The expertise and experience of our teams sets us apart from other models.
We must create value in service of the long term.
A committed network
Our distributors forge strong economic and social links, helping to raise the profile of their region. Thanks to their proximity, local anchoring, long-term vision and willingness to invest, they embody a dynamic model that promotes prosperity and strengthens the local social fabric.
At SOCODA, we support this dynamic by helping our distributors to incorporate corporate social responsibility (CSR) principles and to give their commitments tangible form. We keep them up to date about any regulatory developments in the social, environmental and legal fields, we foster and disseminate good practices, and we offer new opportunities and solutions. All of these initiatives are discussed and supported by a CSR committee made up of managers and employees that meets several times a year.
